About Us

Peachcroft Pre-school was established in 1983, in 2016 the setting became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is a registered charity run by 3 Trustees.  We are a member of the Early Years Alliance.  The pre-school is situated in a residential area operating out of the local Community Centre.  We are a pack away pre-school in one large hall with a small foyer which houses the children's coats and bags.  We operate an open door policy throughout all of our sessions giving the children access to a large garden area, largely made up of grass with some hard standing and a covered sandpit.  The children experience all weather conditions providing it is safe to do so.  The building is wheelchair friendly both on entry from the front and back, there is also a disabled toilet available.  The pre-school has CCTV both at the front of the building and at the back with an intercom system for visitors to announce their arrival.  We have strong links with the Primary Schools in our area to ensure a smooth transition between settings when children move on.

The children experience a whole wide range of activities which can include a visit to the local shop to buy ingredients for cooking, visits to the local school to play in their play area or a short walk to the post box to post a letter.  The children enjoy visits from the local police, fire brigade, dentist, vets, Zoolab and parents who come in and share stories with us in their own language.  This embeds a variety of cultural experiences for the children ensuring we as a pre-school are providing rich experiences for the children in Cultural Capital.  The children have experienced life cycles such as caterpillars to butterflies, eggs to chicks and tadpoles to frogs, they learn to care for living things.  They are encouraged to look after our garden and grow vegetables for eating at snack time and take care of seedlings and flowers.
